Larry Johanson discovered the Three Pillars of Zen by Roshi Philip Kapleau in his quest for the answers to the big ‘Why’ of his life, and to find meaning and purpose, which preoccupied him in his teens. Later, he had the extraordinary good fortune to meet Roshi Kapleau, who came to Jamaica on vacation. That meeting confirmed that he had found the Path and his teacher.
He later met Roshi Graef, a Dharma heir to Roshi Kapleau, in 1995 when she became the teacher at the Toronto Zen center. He continues to deepen his practice under her guidance.
His mission as a corporate trainer is to give organizations and individuals the tools to transform from ordinary to extraordinary and inspire them to act.
He teaches leadership, communication, personal development, and Mastering Breath Awareness.
